Murgitroyd & Company and PricewaterhouseCoopers will be hosting a breakfast seminar at Waterfront Plaza, Belfast on Thursday 12 January 2012 (8-10am), which aims to explore how the UK government’s Patent Box scheme will benefit businesses who earn income from patented products – could your business profit from the Patent Box?
Murgitroyd & Company’s Mark Earnshaw, Director, Patents will be speaking at the event. He will be explaining the requirements for patentability, patent procedure and timescales in the UK as well as potential methods to obtain a faster grant of patents.
In addition to Mark, Ian Edwards from PricewaterhouseCoopers’ Corporation Tax Advisory Service will also be speaking at the seminar - he will be sharing expertise on the tax aspects of the Patent Box system.
Draft legislation for the UK Patent Box was published by the UK government on 6 December 2011. The proposed Patent Box system allows companies to apply a 10% corporation tax rate to profits generated from patents.
