As a sponsor of Converge Challenge, Murgitroyd & Company attended the Elevator Pitch event on 7 June 2012 at Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh. Converge Challenge is a business planning and innovation competition and the Elevator Pitch event was the first challenge for the participants.
During the Elevator Pitch, each of the 25 participants had just 60 seconds to deliver a presentation which explained to the judging panel and the rest of the audience what their business idea was.

Gordon Stark, Chief Operations Officer, was on the judging panel for the Elevator Pitch event. He and the other judges had a difficult decision to make after some very well delivered presentations for some extraordinary ideas. Eventually, Jack Hoy-Gig Ng, a research associate at Heriot-Watt, was awarded first prize.
Converge Challenge will culminate at the end of September when the winner will be announced at an awards dinner. The winning participant will receive a prize that includes £25,000 cash and £20,000 worth of business mentoring support. Murgitroyd & Company will be providing the winner with assistance regarding their IP protection.
